Project Overview:
This personal project involved designing a full vinyl album for Voir Dire by Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist. I reimagined the front and back covers, along with the inner sleeve, drawing inspiration from the album’s original artwork. I incorporated a stylized Grim Reaper illustration to reflect the dark, introspective themes of the music. My goal was to create a bold, minimalist aesthetic with typography that complements the album’s haunting tone, offering a fresh yet respectful interpretation of the original design.
Design Approach:
For this design, I focused on balancing bold visuals with minimalist elements. By combining impactful typography with the Grim Reaper illustration, I created depth without cluttering the composition. The limited color palette and restrained design choices were intended to echo the album’s somber atmosphere, while highlighting subtle details in the artwork.
